Embodied Movement and the Organ System: Vitality, Flow And Form

Exploring the Organ System, we find new internal pathways of movement, support, and connectivity. We learn to move more naturally, with greater technical skill and consciousness. Asana and sequencing become a balance of organic flow, form, activity, and rest.

Through this course you will gain an understanding of the organs and their relationship to movement, breath, and touch. We’ll experience how they contribute to alignment, and vitality, helping you experience a deeper sense of presence and flow.

In The Lower Body And Central Axis we will explore the formation of the front body; the upper, mid ,and lower abdominal organs, peritoneal and pelvic cavity. These structures internally support the thorax, lumbar, spine, pelvis and legs.

Throughout the course, we will engage in somatic explorations that include anatomy, embryology, and developmental movement as a basis for opening greater awareness within ourselves.

Classes Will Offer:

  • New approaches to alignment and sequencing using Body-Mind Centering® principles.
  • Embodied process and integration.
  • Greater depth of movement, ease, and flow in forming asanas.
  • Discovering new sequential relationships between postures from a developmental and organ perspective.
  • Learn to recognize compensatory patterns, and ways to alleviate them when they occur.

The principles and techniques learned in this course can be used for personal development and for professional enhancement. We recommended it for anyone interested in movement, dance, yoga, bodywork, somatic studies, education, meditation, and other body-mind disciplines.
